I am about to put a huge pork butt roast into the oven! I love pork of all shades, creeds, and religions! I adore a simple ham and bread sandwich. Pork chops, RIBS, even pickled pigs feet! But like DUTCH says.....Nuthin' Burps Better'n Bacon!!!!

For those who were on restrictions: Did it bother you not to comment?
by truthseeker ini'm curious to know if not beng able to comment at meetings was something you felt badly about if you were on restrictions.. i don't comment anyway, but i hardly think not being able to comment is a "restriction" in itself.. .

Not me, I was never on any formal restrictions. But my father in law had been df'd in error and he said it was the worst time in his lifer and he never felt lower.

I was only good for the book study
by heyfea ini was never picked to be in a part in the assemblies.
i was not worthy for such functions, unlike the usual suspects: pioneers, bethelites, the single elderly sister who pioneered despite her illnesses, etc.
yet, the same elders who never recommended me for any part in the assemblies, expected me to participate in the book study like there was no tomorrow, especially when they were stuck with a boring group like mine.

Count your blessings. The only thing I was good for at assemblies was to clean the john, cook sometimes, guard the illegally thawing meat from cats roaming the COW PALACE at night, or set up a soda and snack stand......All behind the scenes stuff, that I was happy to do. I even used to go to another assembly so I could work thru mine, then the overlords would see me, a single brother trying to enjoy a talk and I wowuld be recruited to scrub johns and miss that assembly too. Too bad I had made so much expense and figured I was God's toilet boy.........I could be rich now

my one rep is sluggish, no drive, no umph, does the bare minimum and no matter how times he is warned, encouraged, you name it his attitude doesn't change.
i've lost my cool on a couple of occasions with him becuase he has a total disregard for authority.

I documented; if I had a person that wasn't pulling their weight, I'd write them a repremand and have them sign it, then file it in their personal file
I agree with Dawg on this one. When I have had charge of a group and someone is not pulling their weight or otherwise being a pain, I would give them a verbal warning and a reference to it in their file which would be removed from the file in 90 days if they corrected their course. If not it stayed. Next time a written warning that they would sign that stayed on their record. After two written warnings (rare scenario), I would suspend them from work and suggest they find something more to their liking as they would be on 90 probation upon their return to work. Finally any occurrences within that 90 day probation would result in their immediate termination.
Now you need to consider your labor laws in South Africa (I am in the USA). Either way a paper trail is the surest way to put the noose around their neck................Please stay calm, nothing makes a rebel more rebelious than proof that they have torqued the boss.......

My friends and I were on a beer run and noticed that the cases were
discounted 10%. Since it was a big party, we bought 2 cases. The cashier
multiplied 2 times 10% and gave us a 20% discount.Ok, that is fine. But why not go back in and get a refund and go grab TEN cases and get a 100% discount?

I still think you showed class by saying goodbye. If they can't respond it is their own lack of character blended with unreasoned fear. You did your part......I wish you well and if you need an ear you know I am here along with the rest of the group!
